Dustin Lee Hoffman was born on 8th August 1937 in Los Angeles, California, USA.

He graduated from LA High School in 1954. Then he went to Santa Monica City College, but he dropped after a year because of bad grades. But before that, he took an acting course and later also received some training on LA Conservatory of music. He decided to become an actor and went on a training to The Pasadena Playhouse for two years, where he also met Robert Duvall, which is still his friend.

His first good and serious role was in 1967 in the  movie The Graduate where he played Benjamin Braddock, young man who has just graduated, but fall in to love affair with his father's friend's wife. He was nominated for Oscar.

Afer that movie the big doors to film industry opened and he got many good roles in '70s and '80.

He got Oscars. First for role of Ted Kramer in movie Kramer vs. Kramer, a Drama with Meryl Streep and second for role of authistic Raymond Babbit in movie Rain Man.

He is also well known for his roles in: All the President's man, Marathon Man, Tootsie and others.
